Best Gift I’ve Received

Since I’m a long-term CTS sufferer, managing symptoms and flare ups have been key to maintaining a pain-free happy work and home life. Over the years and decades I’ve received gifts from loved ones, massage therapists, and even purchased some of these on my own at the recommendation of a medical specialist Dr, physical therapist, massage therapist. Here are some of the products that REALLY help me in a flare up, when pain has got me down; but I’ve got to keep doing things at home and in the office: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099K3JL6G?ref=t_ac_view_request_product_image&campaignId=amzn1.campaign.QZS979FCNK9A&linkCode=tr1&tag=carpaltunnelq-20&linkId=amzn1.campaign.QZS979FCNK9A_1739103030862 I was introduced to this by my massage therapist; who uses this during my massages to assist when my hands/wrists really need some specialized attention, but so does the rest of my body. I threw this on my family’s secret Santa wishlist for Christmas, not knowing if it would be the sa...

Managing Symptoms

Managing symptoms can vary widely based on what symptoms you have. My experience with carpal tunnel yielded different areas where the core of chronic pain varied. This changed depending upon how much I was working, how often I was stuck in the same position, my stress level, and even how I slept. Typing was difficult while wearing the brace, but I found when I was in a flare up, I had to wear this religiously to bed, and outside of work hours when it didn’t limit my functionality in my hand too much. It provides a nice sturdy support for the wrist and holds your hand, wrist and the lower part of your forearm in a nice neutral position. While this brace helped in alleviating some of the dai...

How It All Began

Hello everyone! My name is Kat. I am a 38 year-old Mom of two and I’d like to introduce myself with the story of how this all began. Let’s take a walk back down memory lane, 20 years ago. I was a freshman in college. I started a semester late, and wanted to catch up to graduate “on time“. I was taking extra classes majoring in accounting, and I had stacked my schedule to allow three days off from classes. When I wasn’t in class full-time, I was a waitress at a local nearby restaurant. At Ruby Tuesday’s, when the plates were too hot to handle, they double plated the food to carry out to our tables. Between working two double shifts and a regular shift at the restaurant per week, and taking six full-time college courses with handwritten notes (computers were not the main form of note taking back in 2004, at least for this older millennial 😋) I begin to suffer from symptoms. PAIN. Excruciating, chronic pain. It seemingly came out of nowhere. I didn’t understand. I was young ambitiou...
